At the end of the semester our open discussion groups got together for a time to just chill and enjoy a whole semester of getting to know each other.  Every week we’ve been hanging out talking about Jesus together in the student center and the North Campus Diner.  These discussion groups asked questions like “is the Bible reliable”, “Who is Jesus”, “Why did he die”, and “What is a christian.”  These were  amazing time of dialogue and open discussion about Christianity.  One of the things I enjoyed so much was hearing people from a variety of backgrounds share freely about their experience and there views on Christianity without feeling like they were being judged.  It truly was a place where people felt welcomed and weren’t looked down upon even if they had different viewpoints.

OUR FIRST WEEK WAS GREAT! We had a blast getting to know each other. I really enjoyed jumping off the sidewalk with John and Kate (see below). Unfortunately Kate twisted her ankle when she landed. Oops! We definitely are excited this year for what God is going to do at the campus of UM.  We have a team of about 20 or so students that live on or near campus and all attend Covenant Life Church.  We believe that God is raising up a generation that will be fearless in taking the gospel to lost and hurting college students across the nation.  So much of our future leaders are represented at these large intstitutions and so many of them will go to impact our schools, government, businesses, and ultimately  our culture.  So far I have been able to talk to the other campus ministers at Maryland and they all agree that there has never been a presence of believers like there is now.  Now is the time and now is the day of salvation.  Let’s pray for God to move in power as He stirs the hearts of men and all over the college campus and brings glory to His name.  Blessings!!!
